The Statistical Foundation of Quantitative Collocation Analysis

Analysis and calculation methods of quantitative collocation study are sufficiently introduced,while the literature in this field has not provided enough fundamental explanations,mainly concerning the following important issues： the concepts of population and sample in statistical lexical research,basic statistical patterns of quantitative collocation study,word frequency distribution and word probability,hypothesis testing in statistical lexical research.This paper gathers related theories and statistical basics and provides an explanatory reference of statistical foundation for quantitative collocation study.
