公示语的翻译及其认知视角解读

本研究针对公示语复合名词内部结构、分类和相关的翻译问题展开分析。概念合成在复合名词意义构建过程中起重要作用,因而复合名词结构形式看似简洁,其内部语义关系却比较复杂,对英译汉或汉译英的要求也比较高。本研究还发现,复合名词中向心式结构比较常见,离心式结构少见。总之,公示语复合名词形式和意义结构及其翻译问题的研究,有助于进一步了解公示语复合名词的语义关系和语义认知动因,有助于解决其翻译中出现的一些问题,进而改善不同语言之间公示语复合名词的翻译作品,对当代城市学中公示语的规范使用和翻译质量的提高有较高的学术研究价值和实践参考价值。

Compound Noun Structures of Public Signs and Their Translation Problems

This study classifies public signs by analyzing its inner structure from the perspective of compound nouns and further analyzes its translation problem. The form of compound nouns in public signs seems brief, while its inner semantic relationship is quite complicated. Conceptual integration results in the formation of compound nouns and plays a vital role in the process of semantic construction. Endocentric compound nouns are more than exocentric compound nouns. This research can strengthen the understanding of semantic relation and semantic motivation of compound nouns in public signs, which can help to explore the translation problem of public signs and further promote the comparative study in different language. Furthermore, this study has a high value to regulate the use and translation of public signs in modem urbanology.
