| Abstract: | To cultivate the students' initiative sense and ability is the major purpose in English teaching reform in Higher Normal Schools(HNS) in the years of the 2lst century. Based on the analysis of some problems existing in current HNS English teaching, this paper will discuss the way to empower the HNS English major with ability to analyze and solve problems on their own, to bring forth new ideas, and to adapt the learned knowledge. |
