| 摘 要： | 高等学校英语应用能力考试对我国高职院校公共英语教学反馈作用很小,考试的社会权重低,社会功能弱,考试亟需改革。在行业英语教学改革的背景下,用行业英语证书考试来代替高等学校英语应用能力考试将是必然的趋势。

| Abstract: | Practical English Test for Colleges （PRETCO） shows little feedback on college English teaching in vocational colleges in China. PRETCO needs reforming because of its low social weight and weak social function. Under the background of industry-specific English （ISE） teaching reform in vocational colleges in China, it is a trend for ISE test to take the place of PRETCO. |
