Water Dragon: A Scroll of Folk Culture of 20th Century Chongqing

Water Dragon,a popular novel among readers and reviewers,is a scroll of folk culture and regional features.It is compared to a painting of Riverside Scene at Qingming Festival in modern times.In this article the author has analyzed its folk culture from the following aspects: the landscape of Chongqing,architectures,music,dinning habits,customs for marriage and funeral and balladry,which are all expressed in the novel by Wang Yu,a famous native writer in Chongqing.The author thinks that the rich folk cultures in the novel makes it more readable and be more likely to be accepted by the world.
