| Abstract: | This paper aims to review the study of irony via different approaches, such as the traditional semantic view, the standard pragmatic model, the echoic mention view, the indirect negation view, the allusional pretense theory, etc. Furthermore, it gives a tentative study of some translating techniques of irony to help the reader decipher, appreciate and translate irony. |
