近代中国教会特殊学校述评

摘    要:本文论述近代教会在华特殊学校事业的兴起与教育制度特点,及其时中国特殊教育发展的作用。认为虽然传教士创立教会特殊学校在客观上却带来西方文化中的一些新思想、新观念和新方法,提高了中国民众时特殊儿童的期望值;由教会特殊学校所培养的学生具有较强的民族独立意识,他们中的一些人成为近代中国民办特殊教育的先驱,推动了中国特殊教育事业的发展。

Abstract:This paper discusses the rising, the characters of educational system of the missionary special school in modern China, and its functions to the development of special education in China. It is believed that the main purpose for missionary is to attract the Chinese to get religion by means of breeding and relief, but objectively they bring new thoughts, concepts and methods from western culture, and enhance the expectation of Chinese people to special children. Also, students graduated from there have strong consciousness of national independence; some of them have been the harbingers of Chinese modern special education ran by the local people, which promotes the development of special education in China.
