Abstract:An error analysis indicates that some of the students' errors may have been caused or induced by the teaching techniques or order and pattern of presentation.Classroom experience and common sense often suggest a safer strategy for instruction is to minimize opportunities for confusion by selecting nonsynonymous contexts for related words and by avoiding excercises based on contrast and transformation.
