英汉两种语言中有关颜色的词汇意义的对等性研究

英汉语言中有大量关于颜色的习语、成语和谚语,这些语言背后蕴藏着深厚的文化积淀。因而这些词语在表达语言意义时,呈现出不同程度的语义对等性。但由于民族风俗、地理环境、思维形式、宗教信仰、民族心理等文化背景的差异,各个民族对颜色词语在视觉上和心理上所产生的联想意义、文化内涵及其蕴含的意义,同中有异,异中有同。因此,了解并掌握这些颜色词的语义及其引申意义异同性,揭示英汉语言中颜色词语表达意义的对等性差异,对促进语言学习,中英文化交流有一定的指导意义。

Semantic Equivalence of the Expressions Referring to Colors in English-Chinese Languages

During cross-cultural communication,color terms have the same visual effects on Chinese and English people.The understandings and feelings of color terms among Chinese and English people are much alike,but the associations,symbols and implied meanings of color terms to the different nations are different because of their different customs,environments,ways of thinking,religious beliefs and psychology.Therefore,it is of practical significance to know the differences of color terms among English and Chinese and to know their extended meanings for developing translation practice and promoting cultural communication in Chinese and English.
