精读教学:问题与对策

摘    要:精读教学一直被当作英语专业低年级教学的主要环节。它以讲授词汇、语法、语音等知识并帮助学生发展有关技能为主。然而 ,在实践中已越来越暴露出它的不足之处 ,即它无法提供给学生运用所学语言知识的机会 ,更谈不上有效地促进学生使用语言来扩大知识面。这不但已经引起学生的不满 ,也无法满足社会对复合型人才的需求。为了走出这个困境 ,笔者提出精泛结合 ,以泛促精的教学模式 ,并探讨其必要性和可行性。

Abstract:Intensive reading is supposed to be Principal Constituent of English teaching. It focuses upon vocabulary,grammar and Phonetic knowledge as well as the related abilities. However,more and more of its deficiencise have been discovered, which centers around its inability to supply the students with opportunities to practice the linguistic knowledge they have Learned and urge them to expand their scope of knowledge in this language. This not only has aroused the students’ dissatisfaction but also runs counter to the social requirement of complex talents. To resolve this dilemma,the author of this paper proposes a teaching program that combines intensive reading with extensive reading,and he also examines its necessity and feasibility.
