Abstract:Task-based language teaching theory (TBLT) has long been advocated home and abroad. This paper offers some critical reflections and comments on such terms as task, task authenticity, boundary of tasks and task difficulty on the basis of the review of literature of writing teaching and argues from the theoretical and pedagogical perspectives that reconsiderations are needed to minimize the teachers' and researchers' confusion about the task-based English writing teaching model.
