闻一多对屈原和《楚辞》研究的重大贡献

Wen Yiduo's Great Contributions to the Research into Qu Yuan and His Song of Chu

There have been various opinions about Qu Yuan's status and thought. Some people depreciate Qu Yuan, saying he was " a man of literature for the imperial court". Some regard him as "a patriotic poet" but stigmatize him to be "a loyal subject and patriot". Wen Yiduo dissented those two opinions. From Qu Yuan's status, thought and the form and content of Lisao and his other works, Wen Yiduo fully expounded and proved that Qu Yuan was "a true people's poet"; meanwhile, by adopting a new idea and method, he broke a new path to the research into the Song of Chu, hence raising the research level into it of an era. Therefore Wen Yiduo's contribution is especially great.
