民国《子见南子》演剧风波述评

新编历史剧《子见南子》是林语堂一生中惟一的戏剧创作,该剧以现代性解构了传统的孔子形象。1929年6月8日山东省立第二师范师生公演该剧时,引起了孔氏族人的愤恨,并上告教育部,引发一场短兵相接的思想交锋,折射出了当时新文化、新思潮与复古思潮之间相互碰撞、斗争的复杂关系。

Comments on Storm of Playing Confucius Saw Nancy in Republic of China

The newly written historical play Confucius Saw Nancy in which the traditional image of Confucius was deconstructed in modern view is the only drama created by Lin Yutang in all his life. The play incited resentment of Confucian clansman, who accused them to the Ministry of Education when it was performed in public by the teachers and students of the Second normal school of Shandong on June8,1929. That raised a confrontation at close range, reflecting the strained relations between the new culture, the new ideological trend and the revivalism.
