| Abstract: | With due consideration of historical development, the paper theoretically probes into the regularity of the course in which the study of Confucian classics goes from birth to fall: a. things always develop in the opposite direction when they reach a climax; b. things are sure to divide when they have been sticking together for too long; c. political reasons; d. social upheavals. In addition, the shifting ways of scholarship which result in complicatedness and stiff-mindedness is also one of the reasons that the study of Confucian classics wanes. |
