In the Qing Dynasty, Wenzhou underwent a few of tide disasters concentrated mainly in the summer and autumn. They usually came unexpectedly with great destructiveness. With great harm, the tide disaster not only claimed people＇s lives, de- stroyed their houses, but also did great harm to the agriculture, salt industry and fishery, which caused a series of secondary disasters.
