九十自我学术评述

我的史学研究主要集中在中国社会史 (周到隋唐 )、汉唐佛教寺院经济和汉唐兵制三个领域 ,用力最多的是中国社会史。 2 0世纪 30年代 ,运用马克思主义唯物史观 ,研究中国古代社会经济形态 ,提出了魏晋之际 (或汉魏之际 )封建说 ,后来 ,不断丰富、发展 ,到今天还在坚持。此外 ,对有关中国古代社会发展道路的其他一些重大问题 ,也提出了自己独到的见解。如 :殷周时代 (盘庚到春秋 )是氏族部落向国家的过渡阶段 ,可称为部落国家或早期国家 ;战国秦汉时期是古代社会 ,是城市支配农村的时代 ;魏晋南北朝隋唐时代社会的显著特征是自然经济、依附关系和户口分割 ,等等。在近 70年的学术生涯里 ,形成了自己的学术风格 :宏观、微观并重 ,理论、材料并重

My Historical Studies

My major research focuses on the following three areas:Chinese social history,the economy of Buddhist monasteries and the military systems during the period between the Han(f.206BC)and the Tang (e.907AD)dynasties,the first of which is the one that I spend most of my energy on.In the 1930s I investigated the Chinese social history and presented my viewpoints(still held today)that the Chinese feudalism was established during the period between the Han and the Wei(e.265AD)dynasties.Besides,I also offer my understandings on some other important issues concerning the developmental path of ancient and medieval society in China.The first is that the Shang (from Pan-geng,14cBC)and the Zhou(e.Chun-qiu,8-5cBC)are the so-called tribe states or early states.The second is that rural areas are controlled firmly by urban authorities during the period between the Warring States(5-3cBC)and the Qin(f.221BC)and the Han(e.220AD)dynasties,hence should be called ancient society.And lastly,natural economy,dependence of serfs on their lords and the slicing melon of peasant families are the most striking features of the society in the stage between the Wei(f.220AD)and the Tang.My research style can be summed up as the combination between macro and micro studies and that theory and material.
