文明是人类社会对属于他们的那部分地域加以组织、利用和加工的结果,可以被视为＂环境的人为部分＂。在一定的地域内,自然环境要素是人类文明形成与发展的基底,尤其在生产力水平低下的古代社会,自然地理环境为每个民族文明的产生和发展提供了多种可能性和可塑性,产生了不可低估的影响;同时,文明也对其所处的自然环境发生作用,使自然环境发生不同程度的变化,特别是近代两次技术革命和现代科技革命以来,人类对自然的能动作用越来越大。文章将对人类文明与环境的复杂关系予以简要的介绍,以期有所启发。
