传播史学的未来

《传播史学的未来》,原文发表于《媒体传播批判研究》(Critical Studies in Media Communication) 2006年秋季号。该文首先梳理了传播史学研究的两种倾向:技术史和新闻史,然后详述了三种介于和融合这两种倾向的跨学科的学术范式:作为技术的社会建构的技术史,追寻书籍生存史的书籍史,探索传播与管制关系的公共领域史,并衡量了其对传播史学的意义。最后总结传播史学的未来需要自己建构。本文的翻译得到了作者和原刊物的许可。     

匈牙利自然历史博物馆的历史、设施和活动

论图书馆史研究的重要性

图书馆史研究不仅有助于我们了解图书馆的过去,而且有助于我们把握图书馆的现在和未来。历史意识的提高能够增强馆员的实践能力,提高馆员服务的质量和效率。美国图书馆学界重视图书馆史研究,美国图书馆协会图书馆史圆桌会议的诞生,表明图书馆史研究的重要性日益增加。中国图书馆学会图书馆史研究专业委员会在推动我国图书馆史研究的发展、促进我国图书馆事业的繁荣方面,发挥了不可替代的历史作用。     

The History of Bibliographic Instruction:

Bibliographic instruction in academic libraries can be traced back to the pre-Civil War era in the United States. Since that time, changes in bibliographic instruction and its perception to librarians, administrators, and faculty have occurred due to emerging technology and new teaching ideas. In the past hundred years, several librarians have promoted bibliographic instruction in a variety of formats and styles. The literature in library science illustrates similarities and differences in concerns and issues of bibliographic instruction throughout its history. The writings show how far bibliographic instruction has progressed. What began as an activity in scattered libraries has become an accepted (and expected) library service with its own theory and literature.     

筚路蓝缕 薪火相传——山东省博物馆发展史

<正>山东省博物馆是新中国成立后建立的第一座省级综合性地志博物馆。1953年,时任文化部文物局副局长的王冶秋同志在济南广智院小礼堂作了《怎么样办博物馆》的报告,提出了山东省博物馆的建设要求和方法,并指明了博物馆工作需要努力的方向,为山东省博物馆的建设提供了一份蓝图。1954年8月,山东省博物馆筹备处正式成立,被文化部文物局确定为省级地志博物馆的试点单位,领导了全国的博物馆建设,为我国的博物馆事业写下了浓墨重彩的一笔。

阐述高校图书馆修史的意义及所处时代背景;通过检索大型书目系统及相关文献统计,说明了自民国以来的高校图书馆史的编纂出版情况,从出版年代、编纂人员、编纂体例、章节设置、内容呈现等方面分析其编纂特点;梳理阐述高校图书馆史编纂过程中所涉及的编纂队伍的组建、章节与编纂原则的设定、史料的收集与整理等关键问题。     

The Value of Natural History Collections

The value of museum natural history collections is commonly poorly explained to, and therefore commonly misunderstood by, the general public. This is an increasingly dangerous situation at a time of tight fiscal constraints; if natural history collections are to survive, those charged with their care will have to do more to broadcast their value as both resources for research and public education. Research values include documenting biotas no longer available and present and past biogeographic distributions, housing type, voucher specimens, and (perhaps most importantly) serving as fertile places for scientific discovery and inspiration. Public values include serving as resources for identification of unknown specimens, hands-on education and the support of systematics, and (perhaps most importantly) as the depository for the final physical evidence for the history and diversity of life on Earth.

The History of Paper and Public Space

This article introduces a group of articles on the history of paper and issues of scarcity in the history of newspapers and news media generally. The articles discussed share a concern with the parallels between paper scarcities in newspaper history and spectrum scarcities in broadcast history. This introductory essay comments on the similarities and differences between the two kinds of scarcity and comments more broadly on the rise and fall of bottlenecks in media systems, paying attention both to how scholars have discussed materialities of media communication and how legacy news media in the digital era have encountered a new competitive landscape.
